Grand Plans and Stuff

OK so I had these plans to take all kinda of photos today to post. So there are visuals to go with the list from yesterday. However one thing lead to another and here it is after 10 p.m. already...

Today we figured out, hopefully, what the crap is wrong with the toilet. That is to be fixed this weekend so yay for that.

I did get some knitting time, so the ribbing on my sweater is longer but I have come to the realization that cotton makes my hands hurt (feels like I have a rock on my thumb/palm area) if I knit it too much so looks like the cotton things will be taking a bit longer.

Oh my chair fell apart today as well so I have to find the special screwdriver thing and fix that too.

One of the cats managed to rip a rather large chunk out of the one screen so that is one the list to fix now too. Seems the list of things to be fixed is getting longer rather than shorter...

In other news I caulked the shower so more today and hopefully this will be the last time I have to do that. The old shower curtain has now been morphed into a new shape to cover said caulked area so as to enable shower use. That's one of the crap things about having only one bathroom.

So that's all for now, hopefully tomorrow will be a productive day.

The List!

Welcome to the crazy place! :)

It has been an interesting week for me here. I have started a bunch of projects, with more to be started and so far have finished only one. In no real order the projects are:

1 dishcloth for the kitchen (completed)

2 flower dishcloths for the kitchen (to be started)

1 bathmat for in front of the bathroom sink (started 1/8 done)

1 lined hat with lacy overlay (started) Size 2! needles o.o

1 zip up hoodie (to be started) Its for me and will be my first "big" project

1 remade sock for granpa (I am procrastinating on this one, a lot)

That is it for now I think. The amusing part to me about all the projects is that none of them are on the same size needles.

Well now that I have it all in a cute little list I see I have lots to do so I best be getting busy.

Hats and Hot Weather

OK so goofy me made a hat. Its like a billion degrees out. (85+)

The hat is the Wide-Rib Brim Hat out of the book by Crazy Aunt Purl. It is made on size 10 & 11 needles so it went really fast. The yarn I used was reclaimed from a poor bag I made and have never really used. (The bag turned out crappy to me) So now I have a fun red hat made of Lion Brand's Wool Ease Thick & Quick. I don't remember the name of the color and I don't see it on their website. Oh well.
Hope all is well

Socks and stuff

I have been working on granpa's socks. The second one is gonna be a better fit, that means ripping out the first one and reknitting it. You think 2nd sock is bad, try third. This one has been kick my butt too. I have learned on this sock that:

- I don't really like knitting ribbing in the round
- When turning a heel I have to devote all my attention to what I am doing
- Same goes for getting my gusset decreases set up
- Toe's are the devil.

I think if I could find some way to make a toe up sock with a heel flap (or just got really good at grafting knit stitches) sock knitting would be so much more fun.

In other news I was looking at yarn on ebay and found a cute shop that sells buttons. My favorite one has to be this one, mainly because I think in some cases it may not be true. (Have you seen some of the prices on the yarn out there!?)

Oh points for me too as I cleaned/vacumed/rearraged my room today to make it less likely for things on my bed to fall into the litterbox. (It used to be at the end of the bed, now its on the otherside of the room.) What else is there to talk about... Oh I went to the lib today and got an armload full of books on knitting, so I'll have some new patterns to drool over. :)

I think that's enough for now... Don't you?

Lazy

OK so I have a million things that I should be doing on a day to day basis and I have no desire to do any of them. I just want to sit around and be a bum.

For example Sunday's used to be my big day. I would stop the homework (college) at 5 and then proceed to clean the fish tanks, tidy my room, put all my clothes away make sure I had lunches made for the week and get myself together generally for the week. Now I just kinda roll out of be whenever waddle out to my computer, read knitting blogs, drool over yarn, read the news, and just do absolutely nothing productive. Most days I don't even make it to the shower until after noon. Its kind of sad really.

However I have been semi productive today. I didn't get into the shower until about 2 but I did clean my room up, it was a mess, clean the 3 litter boxes and put all my clothes away as well as getting the towels closer to being fully dry. (Our dryer is old and kind of starting to lose its powers of drying in a timely fashion.

In other news I finished 1 sock and when casting on for the other one got my butt handed to me by the yarn. I took this as a sign that I was not supposed to start the sock right then. So I pestered my mother into helping me look though our fabrics for a suitable fabric for kitchen curtains. Long story short we don't have any, but we did clean out a whole bunch of stuff and managed to find the elusive buttons. (They were in a box in the closet, we moved a year ago and are still kinda getting it all together. That's what happens when you move 4 times in less than 5 years. Things tend not to get unpacked.) Along with the buttons mom found the afghan she started when she first got married. I have been given the yarn to reclaim and have already devised a purpose for it. Its a secret though. =) We also found a tiny crochet hook, ONE size 3 needle and some yarn from LONG ago.

Well I best be going I have been reading blog archives and my eyes are starting to complain about the computer screen. So until next time...
