My own dirt?

I am super excited right now as I managed to find a place with my own house and dirt that I can afford. Of course there is the hang up of not having seen the inside but that will be dealt with in due time. I am trying not to get too excited but its not easy. I think if I am going to keep this up I am going to need to get preapproved for a loan and get a value on the current house and such.

In other news, my computer died, took it in to be repaired and less than $150 & 24 hours later I have a new power source and a functional computer again! YAY! You have to love your local business people, after all who cares if the big company gets more money, they take much much longer, charge more & don't "reinvest" in the area.

Also I went to the chiro yesterday, that was tons of fun. My chiro is lucky I didn't kick him for putting his thumb in the most tender spot on my back and pushing. I know he was just trying to help but OW!

Speaking of which my hand is complaining that I am typing right now so I am going to stop.

Later! =)

Alpaca!

OK so today I went to my first ever alpaca farm. SO much fun! I think I scared the lady a little bit with how much I was already preparing to do my own ranch/farm thing.

I visited Hollyhock Farm today and got to put my hands on alpaca fiber that will still on the alpaca! I had tons of questions as my current dream is to move to my own little (or not so little) patch of dirt and breed and raise the things myself. I know there is a huge commitment involved in doing so and that people tend not to tell you the bad things that happen. For that very reason I am going to visit lots of farms and do lots and lots of asking questions. (That and because I have to find a way to fund this adventure yet too...)

Anyway more about the farm, there are currently 13 alpacas there, 4 are boarders and the rest actually live there, all but 1 of the breeding age girls are gonna have cria (babies) in the next 6 months. The owner lady, Teresa, is super nice and really good about not making me feel like I was driving her nuts in the four hours I was there. She also gave me some cool reading materials and lots and lots of ideas.

I would tell you the plan but that takes all the fun out of it for me. =P

Long time No Talk

OK I admit I officially suck at remembering to post to my blog.

It's not like I am never online, I am, I just don't post. Might have something to do with the fact I really wonder if what I have to say is all that interesting to the rest of the world. Oh well.

As for what's up with me. I am still knitting, have a job that I LOVE and am dreaming of being an alpaca rancher part time for now, maybe full time later. There are a couple major hold ups on that dream though.

1. I have no where to put an alpaca right now, let alone two...
2. Alpacas are not exactly free for the taking
3. See point 1

I am however working on fixing the hold ups. In the mean time I am just wishing for my father to fall over of a heart attack so I can inherit the land he has, the savings and house would be nice too... There is no love lost between us if you didn't already guess. =)

Any who I should get back to my knitting and such, I have to email a lady about an alpaca farm visit...

Grand Plans and Stuff

OK so I had these plans to take all kinda of photos today to post. So there are visuals to go with the list from yesterday. However one thing lead to another and here it is after 10 p.m. already...

Today we figured out, hopefully, what the crap is wrong with the toilet. That is to be fixed this weekend so yay for that.

I did get some knitting time, so the ribbing on my sweater is longer but I have come to the realization that cotton makes my hands hurt (feels like I have a rock on my thumb/palm area) if I knit it too much so looks like the cotton things will be taking a bit longer.

Oh my chair fell apart today as well so I have to find the special screwdriver thing and fix that too.

One of the cats managed to rip a rather large chunk out of the one screen so that is one the list to fix now too. Seems the list of things to be fixed is getting longer rather than shorter...

In other news I caulked the shower so more today and hopefully this will be the last time I have to do that. The old shower curtain has now been morphed into a new shape to cover said caulked area so as to enable shower use. That's one of the crap things about having only one bathroom.

So that's all for now, hopefully tomorrow will be a productive day.
